For over 30 years, members of the Friends of Nepal-NJ have wprked to provide hope and opportunities in Nepal through the creation of new networks of people, scholarship funds, micro credit lending and training programs. Nearly thee decades later and after the massive earthquake in Nepal, we needed to provide massive support for Nepal, so we came up with this “ASHA PROJECT” name to continue providing assistance to people of Nepal in collaboration with various other non-profit and profit organizations.

The Asha project was formally launched in response to the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal that left millions homeless. In March 2016, we travelled to Nepal with the goal to rebuild these homes. When we visited a rebuilding project, we spoke with many community leaders and they told us that they were more interested in opportunity to work collaboratively with many organizations. So we created a platform to provide hope and opportunities for those who re interested in moving forward with the support many non-profit organizations.
